Diving in the winter? Where else in the entire country would you be able to do this? The weather outside is frightful for most of the US right now. But the diving here in our Lake Havasu community is delightful albeit a little chilly. You can take advantage of this particular perk of the Havasu lifestyle by participating in the Lake Havasu Frozen Fin Dive 2016 on Friday.
Lake Havasu Frozen Fin Dive 2016
Start the new year off with something fun, something physical and something a little different. Take the Lake Havasu Frozen Fin Dive 2016 on Friday, January 1st. The lake has cooled off quite a bit from summertime highs. We are looking at temperatures around 50F. Make sure you wear the appropriate gear to protect yourself from the low temps while diving.
Not a diver? Not a problem! The participants in the Lake Havasu Frozen Fin Dive 2016 could always use some encouragement from the sidelines. Watching these crazy kids hit the water can be almost as much fun as diving itself. Feel free to come down and cheer them on from the safety (and relative warmth) of dry land.
Anyone participating in the Lake Havasu Frozen Fin Dive 2016 is welcome to stop by Tech Diving Ltd at 2150 Kiowa Blvd N tomorrow, December 31st to get their tanks filled up with air. You can also get a free air tank rental for the event if you don’t have your own. Just make sure you make it to the shop by 1pm to take advantage of this free offer.
This marks the 13th year that the New Year’s Day Frozen Fin Dive has taken place here in Lake Havasu City. Have you been to any others in the past? Do you have some tips that might be useful to a novice? Please let me know in the comments below.
