The Lake Havasu Hospitality Association has made it their mission to not only bring in more tourism to the Havasu community (which translates to dollars in the city coffers and more money into the community itself) but to enhance their experience while they are here. One of our greatest attractions is, obviously, the lake. There are so many ways you can spend your time on the lake: boating, swimming, fishing, jet skiing, paragliding, etc. One way to show tourists the diversity of fun available on the lake is through the Lake Havasu Great Pineapple Race 2013.
What: Lake Havasu Great Pineapple Race 2013
Where: Rotary Community Park
When: September 21, 11am to 3pm
Cost: $75 per team and FREE to watch
The Lake Havasu Great Pineapple Race 2013 will feature several co-ed teams racing their outriggers on the lake to see who is the best. All teams consist of local Lake Havasu government officials, police officers, firefighters and more. The Great Pineapple Race isn’t just about racing, though. Prizes will be handed out for the team who best epitomizes the “Native Havasuvian” with their outrageous costumes. Food, wine and beer vendors will be set up at Rotary Park to keep you fed and quench your thirst as you support this wacky team competition.
To find out more about the Lake Havasu Great Pineapple Race 2013, please contact Mary Barriault at (310) 892-4668. Come to the Lake Havasu Rotary Park on Saturday, September 21st to cheer on your favorite Havasu competitors. It’s tons of fun and a sight you won’t soon forget!
